Ultimate hacks to unleash your creativity in 2022

Last year I created the #97DayChallenge, a programme where I pushed myself to choreograph, perform, film and edit one video everyday. And guess what? I actually DID it.

How did I manage to hack my brain into creating daily when not long before that time I wasn’t even able to create one video a month?

Today is Diwali 2022 and I’m sitting on my desk reflecting on all the good things that have happened to me in this last year and my goals and desires. Creating speaking videos has been on the top of my list and today felt like the best day to begin.

Let’s find out all the mind hacks I used at the time and how that helped me stay focussed, disciplined and generate new ideas every single day.

Hack #1 : JOTTING DOWN ALL THE IDEAS IN ONE BOOK

This was crucial. Every possible idea that excited me was written in a book. A Sketch pen and diary is all I needed for this. This helped me look through ideas whenever I sat down to create and felt out of ideas.

Hack #2 : CREATE A SPOTIFY PLAYLIST

This almost had to be hack #1. A spotify playlist of all the music you hear that inspires you, or that you want to choreograph and dance on, was the best hack I could create. This helped me listen to those same tracks when I wanted to start choreographing.

Hack #3 : START EARLY IN THE MORNING

As the day progresses, more distractions come in. Phone calls, commitments, work, emails. Morning was the perfect time where there were zero distractions.

Hack #4 : CREATE A LEAN, MEAN SETUP

Creating elaborate setup for filming and creating will NEVER get you to get going. The greatest favor you can do for yourself is find an empty room, or an empty space. Set up a tripod with a phone mount, connect a basic mic and set up whatever lights you have and JUST GET STARTED. There is nothing more empowering than getting started. And today is the day!

HACK #5 : AN OBJECT IN MOTION STAYS IN MOTION

Now that I think about it, THIS hack should be the first hack. A huge part of why I was able to master the #97DayChallenge AND be so creative every single day is BECAUSE I did it every single day. Not doing it on the weekends. Not doing it every alternate day. Doing it EVERYDAY. Because once the body and mind start moving creatively, it is much easier for the body to remain creative the next day. When you get disconnected from creativity, it is much harder to get back to form. This hack has played a huge role in me starting my online classes that have been going on regularly.
